When one thinks of the terms "doctor", "nurse", and "scientist", what images come to mind? Unfortunately few would envision people of African descent. Actually, the fields of science and medicine were established in Ancient Kemet. Historian Jabari Osaze will lead this illuminating tour. It uncover the ancient African origins of science and medicine utilizing the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Ancient Kemet (Egyptian) Wing.
The wing features nearly 27,000 artifacts from Ancient Kemet. Ancient Kemetic contributions to medicine include:
